View Full Version : New tunnel brace from cpr

03-07-2015, 04:52 PM
Designed to work with or without the HPSI skid plate , machined from a billet of 4140 chrome moly ( torsion bar material ) total weight 3 1/2 lbs

Rigid as HELL works in conjunction with the stock stamped steel brace ( which like most braces on these little cars very weak ) "REDUCES UNDERSTEER " while maintaining decent ground clearance

total height 3/8 inch ( .375 ) these are turbo car specific , I will build units for non turbo cars on request , unit has a machined hole for access to the oil pan plug

The leading edge has a 3/16 machined radius to assist in the unfortunate chance that you encounter a large chunck of road debris , designed to help the bar skip on top of the debris without grabbing onto it with a sharp edge

$149 plus $12 shipping

Looks great Ron!

I remember when my round style CPR brace still had paint on it...lol.

Is this safe even after slamming your car with coils?

I'll show you mine when it gets here, and you can decide.

Would this work on a 500L?

Pictures of Ron' new tunnel brace. Very low profile and sleek. Room for the oil drain slot. Leading edge is radiused for better debri deflection.

I will be installing mine today so that I can snap some pics of ground clearance before and after the tunnel brace. My tunnel brace will be going over a HPSI R3T skid plate.

Pictured next the tunnel brace is Ron's true 28mm rear torsion bar. I will be swapping out my NeuF rear torsion bar for this one as the NeuF is 28mm tapered to 22mm at the ends to be able to fit in stock brackets. Ron bored out a pair of brackets to full 28mm to accomadate the full true 28mm bar.

My T is dropped on megan coil overs, as you can see the left side of the bar is higher that the stock trans dust cover

Not 100% what he meant but I can tell you progress is a bit slowed last I heard due to things I am not sure it is my place to say but he is still working to fulfill and respond. He isn't quitting or ignoring people or anything like that, just had some delays I'll let him go into if he would like.
