My insurance agent (State Farm) has the 500L as a van. What are other insurance agents calling the 500L?

Thanks
Randall

State Farm here as well, so Van. The Illinois DMV classifies it as a (Station) Wagon. I am ok with this since the classification of Van or Wagon result in cheaper insurance rates v.s. a Car/SUV classification.

Let's just cal it a Vanagon!!!!

Wait.... VW beat us to it.

In all seriousness, Fiat classifies it as a MPV - Multi-Purpose Vehicle

Esurance, once they got it added, listed it as a Station Wagon. I say once they got it added, because when I went to add it to my policy last month, it wasn't it their system as a valid model to add. They needed to work with their IT and underwriters, and got it added a couple of days later.

Randall If it saves you money, let 'em call it a Conestoga Wagon or anything they want. I was surprised and disappointed to find out my '13 500 Sport cost more to insure than DW's considerably more expensive '13 Honda CR-V. To the insurance company it seems my having just two doors made it a "sports car".

I have State Farm here in IL. I was curious as to what mine was classified as....here it is:

Vehicle description

2014 CHRYSLER FIAT 500L VAN

I get a good rate with this vehicle, surprisingly. It gets 5 stars, from State Farm's concern.

USAA here, so Compact Station Wagon.

FYI, in Europe, the class to which the 500L belongs is Mini MPV or B-segment MPV. MPV is what Europe calls a minivan. So "small minivan."

The Personal here from Canada...

my insurance company classifies it as it should be an "MPV", not a van or station wagon.
