I've installed a Solo system on my wife's '09 Slostice and we both love the tone and looks (twin center oval tips),so,I'm partial to that brand. That said,I'm curious about their offerings for the 500 POP,and if anyone has used or is using a Solo exhaust, please share your opinions/probs/etc.

Thanks!

Sam

I'm actually wondering if this would fit my 2013 500T.

I did some looking around and found this YouTube video of the Solo QR18 exhaust http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=F-it4UvRknE sounds pretty good.

I wonder how much of a improvement would it be over the stock 500T exhaust. I am considering just running straight pipes but I don't want to run into issues of not passing inspection later on.

You'll have to fabricate a pipe to connect the Solo exhaust to the downpipe. Not a big deal, As most any exhaust shop should be able to do this easily. Solo makes nice stuff! Heard a few Miatas running their exhaust. Great sound!

So the 2013 500T's exhaust system isn't the same as the 500 Sport's?

Whered you see it on their site? I can see why it was clearance if it was never listed.

I had a solo highflow cat and cat back on my Saturn Sky and was hoping they made something for the 500 family. Preferably for the T/Abarth. I know they can make something, but Im not driving all the way up there for them to do it.

I didn't.....I did a random search on Ebay and their ad magically appeared. I called 'em to confirm some specs, and ordered one then.....$250 is a helloua deal.

I have this I stalled on my car. 12 sport

Only complaint I have is the first (front) connection of pipe. Smaller pipe goes into larger pipe internally in the opposite direction of flow. So it causes a flow issue hitting a size difference. However. Not that big of a deal. Also that same joint. They sent a 2.25 strap clamp. Ive even replaced mine due to stripping he bolt as it simply doesn't get tight enough. The smaller pipe wiggles in the clamp. I added aluminum exhaust tape to seal the connection and reclamped. I probably will have this joint welded at some point.

I have the "Mild" version of the Solo Performance exhaust. Sounds great to me too. From what I can tell it is slightly more aggressive than the RRM axle back. There's some popping and burbling off throttle and between shifts, sometimes more than other times. Keep in mind I have a "Short Shot" intake which is known for "booming" when you're at 50% or more throttle.

Highway drone is present, but minimal. It doesn't interfere with the radio unless you're into classical at low volume.

I have been TRYING to get a good sound recording, but all I have are cell phones and my dashcam, and neither can handle wind noise very well.

Strapped my Nexus 4 to the back glass for a recording, but it really doesn't capture what it sounds like. The sound is muddled on the recording, and there's some vibration from the phone mount I was using.

Here is the outside audio only: https://www.dropbox.com/s/yjrgtpkq2iu03x5/fiat.wav?dl=0 from outside using the phone mount. It sounds a little bit raspier in this video than it is IRL.

And, here is an inside video from my dashcam:

The rattle on the dashcam video appears to be from the dashcam mount... :/..

That sounds pretty close to mine, aelwyne. Mine is also the 'mild' version(with a slightly larger muffler,I was told). I haven't put 25 miles on it yet,but it certainly sounds to me like it becomes more 'throaty' when fully warmed up.....which is fine. I chose the milder version because I like the ability to throttle back the noise level as I can do in my wife's Solstice. Solo advised me to go with this system in order to have that' control'. They were right.
