I'd love to increase the exhaust tone, and reading so many other similar post has gotten me a bit cornfused... I've seen/heard the rear muff delete/straight pipe replacement alternative;and it sounds pretty good. I'm also considering obtaining a second rear muff section (for the connection and oval end),then replacing the oem muff with a short resonator. While set up wouldn't offer any back pressure,I believe that the resonator would soften the 'rasp' that the straight pipe only set up has....BUT,the resonator might create a droning('cab resonance') that would be unacceptable......I dunno....Thoughts/suggestions/experience based advice most welcome! Either way,I'll need to source a used/take off rear muff ass'y.

I ran a muffler delete plus a resonated exhaust tip on my Pop. Sounded perfect!

You might want to be aware that the stock muffler length is 11". There are not a bunch of alternatives out there but Magnaflow does make an 11" muffler that has the correct offsets that fit.
