Here are a couple of shots from the March 2014 event. I am still the smallest car entered. Pretty much ready to go. Changing to 17" wheels with harder rubber.

What was the sequence of events leading to the last photo? Looks like a wild ride.

Lamborghini twin turbo around 1900 hp, had already hit 230 and just deployed his chute. Went of the track hit a small wall and went spectacularly airborne. Survived.

Two days to go. I got a can of 98octane to add to my 93 already there. Will be spraying the IC with ice waste and a blast of compressed CO2. Hope for at least 6 runs. Top Gear will be filming some of the runs so maybe my tiny Fiat will get noticed!

More updates when we get to a beeville a thursday night!

We're staying at the site in RV. I'd say things will get going Friday all day. If you can't find a place in Beeville give me a call or text 713 560 1175 It is a spectacular, fun event. I may have an empty room at the Hampton Inn available

wow I really want to go to this wow!!!! I don't have the balls to drive mine past 150 yet... do you have a target top speed you are shooting for this event? What tires are you running and what PSI do you run for a top speed run like this? Is it rain or shine? lol

5 runs 2 disasters which included limp mode. Best time 123.8 . A wonderful weekend. Tires at 45 F 40 R. Couple of runs had boost turned up too high and saw close to 30 on Defi right before limp mode around 1/2 mile. Best runs were very deliberate start with no well spin which also accompanies over rev. The nice thing this event was no heat soak and was actually still pulling in 5th. Top speed yesterday 240 Ford GT going for 278 mph today. Best runs in the Fiat showed boost around 19-20 psi. Drove 3 hrs to and from the event in our racer.

You've reached 150 mph in your Abarth? That's fast. I've never taken my car to its limit but I have reached 120 in it.

How fast do you think the car can go?

No I have not. the cars with a proper tune will dyno well over 150, and I don't know if aero will allow for actually reaching that speed or not. Iirc, someone else here has driven theirs near that on a downhill grade on the 15 fwy, and they only had a piggy back.

Iirc, 150+ comes after around 6800rpms, but that is only gonna happen with a real tune and big balls. Let's let Gharebson rest and I'm sure he'll chime in with some real world truth. I'm just going off of memory from the last couple of years. :-)

I have done a digital speedometer indicated 140 in mine with the Stage II Uni-Chip, didn't get a chance to see what the GPS was claimed. Still had plenty of power and RPM's left to play with, but wasn't positive of how much space I had left to safely play with. Car felt very stable (steering a little nervous, the short wheel base thing), but felt well grounded on all 4 wheels.

(on a long, long, deserted straightaway, with absolutely no other cars on the road, and no passenger.)

Approx. 60 degrees F, no apparent wind.

Thanks Joseph the 500 Madness Lola Racing was again a huge hit at this great event. As you can imagine team Lola Racing had a great time (as always!) and we ate like kings. best time was 273 by Ford GT (tweaked somewhat lol). My son Bill shared driving duties and we are already thinking of ways to squeeze some more speed out of our little car. What size shirt do you wear? I'll send you a shirt and hat. George

Was the Orange lambo the one that hit the wall and caught air?

Wish I would've known about this event. Looks like it would've been fun!
