I was thinking about installing HID xenon light bulbs in my 500e. Anyone know if this will take more power from the battery? Has anyone done this?

On a side note, does the car drain more power in general at night due to the use of the halogen lights?

Hello Guys,

First time posting here, I just bought a 2016 500e and was wondering if it's still using 9006 as headlight? I look everywhere else they mentioned it's now H11?

Welcome to the forum. As far as I see, the car uses a HIR2LL (9012) bulb, like the other 500s.

Hello Fiat500USA,

Thank you for the info. Do you know by chance if I can remove the dust cover since led with ballast won't fit inside the dust cover.

You can remove the dust covers, but I don't know how ideal that would be in the long run. I did a HID conversion (link below) on a 500 and was able to drill the covers to pass the wires through. Maybe that's an option?

Oh cool! Thank you very much for the link. Duh me.. never thought about just drill some hole on the dust cover. haha... Thanks! The only one thing I am not too sure is if I am able to replace the left side the the headlight, as the space is super super limited.

Extremely Happy with my 500 madness kit. It is stupid easy to install and is a high quality product.

I second that. Pricey, but completely developed plug and play. 3 year warranty.
