So today marked a big occasion, got rid of one of the Abarths and got a 2014 Pop.
It's going to be used for a business. Thing is, it's kind of boring looking as it stands, so if you wouldn't mind posting up pics of your own Pops as inspiration for me.. Thanks 13077

Beauty is in the Eye.... bla, bla, bla. I'm not a guy that likes Graphics on a car... some do , some don't. I do like a nice set of wheels, but here again, everyone's taste is different.

Here's one I saw at the LA Show in 2011. Clean and simple. I liked it!

I love the way it looks, white is a great color for zipping around in. Highly visible, even at night. How about the 1957 Edition wheels? Give it more white on the outside!

What color is your interior? Ivory or black ambiance? Seat color(s)? I can't see ANYTHING inside the vehicle in the picture!

I like the clean look of the Pop in white, along with the Sport and no stripes/caps Abarth. The 500T and now the Abarth have the smoked light area. Either is a good look on the all-white car.

Any of the Fiat graphics will pop on the white Pop. Play up the black with black graphics, like the side checked-end stripe and the checkered roof! Or go bold with a red Special Edition type stripe and put on red mirror caps.

You can play with the Fiat graphics on the UK site. http://www.fiat.co.uk/uk/fiat-500/trims-versions
Once there, you'll go to the top, click configure, make sure you're on Pop and Bossa Nova White, and then click on the little "graphics" label next to the car. You'll get a pop up menu on the right side of the image, showing you the checkers and zippers and other things they offer.

On the other hand, it might be just right as it is, when using for business. Depending on what your business is. You may not want fanciful graphics if you want to be taken seriously. For instance, a female lawyer might not want to go with the flowers. Yes, flowers are cute, but not serious. But if you're a florist, the flowers would be awesome. They have some little people graphics, and those would be cool if you were a gym owner, a physical therapist, a doctor, a coach, etc.

Use the graphics to subtly promote what you do, and be sure they don't detract from what you do. Same with wheels and other things. You don't want anything that might be off-putting for potential business. No one should be alienated, intimidated, or immediately pigeonhole you into a spot you don't really belong in for the business you're trying to do/promote.

Here's mine. Red accents (mirrors, wheel center rings. stubby antenna, Italian flag emblem) compliment the verde chiaro, in my opinion. Also note the wood shift knob and ivory shift boot looks nice on the avorio interior.

All accessories were bought and installed at Madness Autoworks, Signal Hill, CA.

P.S. Almost forgot. I also have ceramic tint!

AbarthSC, definitely check out this one. The accents are small, but make for a great color accent. You could do the same thing on your white Pop, with red accents, like the mirror caps, antenna, shifter knob and red accented shift boot.

For the wheels, since you have the wheel covers, you can go retro, and paint the wheels red. Or leave them black. And add in the chrome beauty rings and baby moon cover. Here's the look of body painted wheels (rame):

And a couple posts down, black wheels on white car (no beauty ring or baby moon)

Nero12, I like this look! Nothing looks better than a clean and shinny Black with Chrome. If I didn't have a 500 ft drive way in the mountains, I would sure have considered Black... but If I wash my car, by the time I get to the road it is dusty, and by the time I get to the Main road, it is splattered with Cow Pies!..... so, the light blue doesn't show the dust or pies so much.

You have a really good looking ride there Amigo.

Yes! Classic! That was one of the reasons I wanted the Pop in Bianco. All the stripes Fiat makes look good on white! And you can use just about any color of striping, and have it look great.

Oooh! Black and brown look sharp! I hadn't seen those stripes before, and they look PERFECT on the Espresso! And the blacked out tail lamps and wheels fully complement the look.

This is what I have so far, the idea is to achieve a retro racer look in the end.
The hubcap idea was shamelessly stolen from zonker, until I can decide/ find wheels, maybe moon hubcaps, I would like to stay with 15". I repainted the mirror caps to tie it together.
I am thinking maybe checkered roof, then need a hitch for the bikes, maybe even a retro kind of roof rack, then concentrate on intake, suspension etc 133591336013361

Very nice!!! Retro racer is something this car can do, and do well.

As long as the clips for the moons or baby moons don't interfere with the current caps, you could possibly be able to switch back and forth. You could do matte black or stock steelies for winter, then add shiny or colorful bits for the other seasons.

Andree

Hey Abarthsc, have you been over in the Classifieds recently? NGen has a few goodies on sale, which you might like with your current colors. Red and white front emblem/spears, all red emblem front and spears, grigio front and back emblem and spears, and matte black back emblem. You have red, white, black on your car now, so you could probably pull off any of the colors, even mix/match. Like red/white on the front, and the matte black on the rear. Just an idea that might be fun for you!

Attacked the car with a vinyl " mock up" today, just to see. I am kind of digging it, getting more retro every day.
Really need the right wheels now for sure.

Nice! I hadn't noticed before that you already did the front emblem and whiskers. I like the checkers on the hood and rear.

What are you thinking about for wheels now?

Andree
08-05-2014, 06:40 PM
How about black and white steelies? Not this deep, just paint your own current ones:
https://straightspeed.wordpress.com/2012/11/25/abarth-147/

Another two-tone set in white with yellow centers:
http://www.dreamstime.com/stock-photos-vintage-fiat-500-abarth-image25221693

The yellow shows up better than the red would (red is dark). You could consider doing the white/yellow and doing the mirror covers in yellow.

Thanks for the research Andree, much appreciated. Really not sure on the wheels yet, I would really like to lose some weight off them but make them as retro as possible too.
I need to trawl the internet....

Wiper delete and final checker mock up on rear today.
1346213463

Also did a rear muffler delete, it is hardly any louder ( that's a huge resonator tho), it might just be me, but it feels a little more urgent now.
I am also in the process of figuring out a light bar to mount a "retro" driving light cluster, finally I have a roof rack from an old beetle, that I might just be able to cut and weld to fit, this might fall by the wayside, we'll see.

Digging the black and white. Very creative arrangement, and really stands out. Ought to be great for business!

How do you feel about checker accessories?

There are the classic Vans (scroll down for the checkers): http://www.vans.com/shop/mens-shoes-classics

A belt (on sale!): http://www.constructiongear.com/1-5-inch-black-and-white-checkered-belt.html

I found a couple of checker jackets, but one was hand wash only (bah humbug!) and the other was sold out in the UK.

Because you can NEVER have too much checker:

I think I may be at my checker limit for now, I see them when I close my eyes.
I sourced some wheel centers from a Spyder which I am hoping will fit the steelies for $45 on Ebay.
I am also strangely drawn to the idea of a wooden dash.

You are having a blast with this Pop! And I'm back to wishing I'd gone white Pop. Fiat makes too many good colors and trims to only have just one. LOL.

The white can take anything. Any color.

Maybe seeing checkers when your eyes close is a good thing. It will stick in the minds of the customers.

And yes, various words will bring up emoticons, whether you like it or not. Silly or crazy bring up the same one. Los Angeles dwellers get their city namesake every time. Just hover your cursor over the mystery emoticon, and it should show the word. It does on my end.

It's not just a forum, it's a game!

Was it hard to do? I am assuming you had to tape off and fill? I have never used the plasti-dip but I am contemplating doing my rims.

Yeah, just taped it off and gave it several heavy coats. The trick it to pull the tape while it's still a little wet. Otherwise you won't get the clean line. Boris (can't remember his screen name) has vinyl ones for very cheap. If/when this wears out I might give it a try.

My '18 is identical to the stock photo... except I added window tint to the side windows yesterday.

I'm still trying to locate door protection, like on Luigi. (Gotta love those looks.) I'm also looking for stickers to fill the "cut out" in the bottom of the door, up to the front fender. Other changes are all hidden, or waiting until after the trouble code is resolved. The last thing I need is, "Oh, here's the problem. You updated the horn."
