View Full Version : 500L with 6-speed manual - shifter moves by itself in 6th gear?

Hello all.

I just bought a 500L Trekking with the 6-speed manual and I love it. It offers the same MPG as the 2005 Civic Coupe I just sold, with tons more space and style.

I have noticed, however, that whenever I'm in 6th gear and let off the gas pedal, the shifter jerks twice immediately afterward. This happens like clockwork whenever I'm in 6th, but I haven't seen it in any other gear.

I've owned a lot of M/T cars before this one, and don't ever recall seeing this phenomenon in any of them.

Anybody else with a 500L and a stick experiencing the same thing? Is this something I should bring to the attention of the service department?

Many thanks.

Joe

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your L Joe.

Sorry I cannot help with your issue as do now own an L, never driven one either. Owners with one will post and offer some thoughts I'm sure.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your car!

Gear shifts can move around due to engine movement. All the cars I've owned and can remember have done that and it was quite normal. Maybe a 500L owner will check in.

Yes, my Trekking does it too. I think it's normal but it is a bit annoying.
