View Full Version : R1 Front & Rear Brakes Fitted ;)

So, thanks to Norcal, Im now running the R1 Concepts rotors and Posi Quiet pads (ceramic rear & semimetallic front).

Fitting the front was a breeze and took under an hour. They arrive black, then after use the facias are silver but the hubs stay black. This is an easy fit with basic tools and no expertise required - just a mallet or strong arm for the loctite covered bolts holding the caliper frames!

The rears where a bit of a PIA. Firstly get a brake piston retraction tool BEFORE starting or itll be a bad surprise like it was for me half way through! Next Fiat chose to put bits of the car in front of both caliper frame bolts meaning on a small, thin 13mm wrench will suffice - and take forever thanks to masses of loctite! Other than all that its not too bad just a pain and took about 1.5hrs.

All in all an excellent kit and comes with all new shims, slidepin boots etc to finish the job. A VERY good price from Norcal helps immensely and it comes well packaged. Im only just into the break in so cant comment too much just yet but they seem so far to be quiet, bite early and hard and dont appear to fade. I recommend these 100%

Certainly looks nice. Looking forward to the verdict once you've put some use on them.
