May 10th Autocross Darlington: The PARKING LOT Too Tough To Tame!

Registration is now open for the SCCA South Carolina Region autocross #3 at this page:

The course will be in a parking lot at the Darlington NASCAR racetrack.

I've said it before and will repeat again: If you haven't autocrossed your Abarth you are missing some big fun!

I've done a few laps on the track after the 9/11 blood drive there, but not at racing speed, only 90mph or so.

Had a fun day on Saturday at Darlington, and finished 2nd in GS behind a Focus ST, but ahead of two other competitors. In the season long points, I'm now tied with a different Focus ST for 1st, so I'll enjoy that while it lasts. It will probably last untill the Focus guy shows up again and waxes me by two seconds!

After the 6 official runs we did some fun runs, and I managed to lower my best time another half second, so I know the performance is in the car and I just need to keep improving my skills. Riding with other drivers, watching the pro guys, and asking questions is still helping my learn more, so it is just a ton of fun.
