My car (500T) was reflashed on Saturday and I have to say that this reflash is so smooth on power delivery its unreal. Im actually on their 3rd map of testing before releasing to the market. If anyone is interested contact Mark at Malonetuning.com

They are popular in VW, especially TDI tuning.
I believe they campaigned a jetta TDI in the Speed WTCC series??

That is correct. Check out their website. They have tuners all over the states.

Welcome to the forum. Is this an OBDII flash tuner or bench flash tune where u have to send them your ecu to open up?

Welcome to the forum. Is this an OBDII flash tuner or bench flash tune where u have to send them your ecu to open up?

It's both OBD2 and bench. First we do a quick ECU identification via OBD2, and then if we have matching stock software we can complete the tune via OBD2. Otherwise we have to read the stock software on bench.

We just started tuning Fiats so we don't have copies of all the different stock software versions yet. Thus for now it will be mostly bench tuning and then it'll progress to mostly OBD2 tuning.

Cheers,
Mark

Welcome to the forum Mark and thanks for the clarification. If I understand correctly then, either way we would have to send u our ECU for the tune. In addition, wouldn't u need our list of mods?

Malone has a great reputation in the TDI world. I look forward to seeing these OBDII tune options come to fruition!

You say open source... where is the source?

I don't think he said that.

It's in the title. Open source to us coding folks mean the code is free to the public.

Welcome to the forum.

Sounds like another potential tuner joining the vendor ranks in the future, nice having so many options!

Title edited.

Thanks! We should have a new OBD2 flash tool soon (similar to www.malonetuning.com/flashzilla). It will allow us to e-mail tunes (also useful for custom tuning). No ECU removal required for most Fiat owners.

Cheers,
Mark

I was going off what Malone said. Besides, if this ECU tuning was open source it would've been on the market a looonnng time ago.

In for updates.

Is this on a 500t or Abarth? I am really looking forward to getting my ecu safely tuned and optimized!

Chris owns a 500T according to his first post.

HP and TQ for first and fourth pulls look good for a 500T, however, the curves are a little erratic.

Great to see somebody else attempting what everybody else has so far failed to deliver - the load of a tune via the OBDII port. First person to actually do it should make some :greedy_dollars: !

I have a bone stock 500T. And this reflash is through the OBDII port.

I want to be clear that this is not the final tune. There is room for improvement and maybe a new dyno to follow (if Chris is cool with that). This is our first shot at Magneti Marelli after almost 10 years working with Bosch and Siemens ECUs.

Cheers,
Mark

My apologies Mark. I spoke with Ben today, and he said that this one wasnt final. This map is pretty awesome as far as power delivery is concerned. And Im more than fine with more dyno time.

The main shop is in Canada, which is very nice for me as I am only 10 minutes away from them, but they have over 200 dealers. check out their facebook page or you can call them directly at 604-372-2818. ask for Owain. Excellent customer service

What the price tag for the Stage I flush for a 500T via OBDII and what are the HP gains over stock?

I have a stock 2013 500T (minus muffler)

i believe all the pricing is on their webpage. Still haven't had a dyno run done but am guessing around 175-180 hp.
