Hello everyone. I finally received my 2013 fiat abarth! And honestly im in love with it. Everything is great with the car. I guess the only couple things that are.. Well to be honest a kick in the balls. First off i waited 4 and a half months when i was told 10 weeks. But thats over and done with and im jusg happy to have my car. The thing that really grinds my gears tho, is November 29th (the day i got my abarth) i got a 1.99% financial deal and a 1000$ rebate, witch i was happy with. But now as of December 1st..2 days later they have a 4500$! Cash back. This is really upsetting to me to be honest and im hoping to be somehow compensated by fiat.

My mother has a fiat 500, i love the brand to death, heck i sold my Subaru wrx to buy one. Im just really hoping fiat can do something considering the time i waited and its only 2 days..

Oh, Word?

Is it 4500 cash back AND a finance deal or do you pick one. I'd be shocked if they even entertain the idea of giving you something back as that's the risk of buying new whatever it may be. If you were initially happy with the deal you made I'd just leave it at that. I didn't get any incentives when I got mine two months ago, they had to work for their sale and in the end they sold a car and I got it for the price and finance rate I wanted. The incentives are just to get you in the door 90% of the time the dealer can do better than what the incentives are. After two weeks and three fourth mile round trips I got the car at a 2% and after tax title and all the other nonsense I still paid below sticker on it, no "incentives".

mcleay...the reality is this happens all the time. The end of the month is the time that you have to talk to the dealer and see if there is any word out about the next month's incoming promotions.

Honestly, the dealer can't do anything for you...you can try Fiat, but you already got a decent deal. The real question is how much higher would the price have been with the $4500 before that $4500 came off.

Example (using USD, but the relative values relate): Let's say your Abarth has a window sticker of $27000. You negotiate them to $26000 plus $1000 rebate applied as down payment and finance $25000. Then you pay $26500 all in (taxes, etc) financed at 1.99% for 60 months (Otherwise in the market, you pay maybe a 6% loan rate, or a total of $30729.20 or $4239.20 more than a cash purchase). With the 1.99% rate you pay a total of $27862.20 or $1362.20 more. Total cost is $27862.20.

Now, if you had to pay $27000 with nothing off to get the $4500 cash back...it's about $23850 all in with rebate as downpayment...assume a 6% loan rate again, and you pay $27885.40, total cost.

Net result is you actually saved $23.20 over the life of the loan...if you calculate present value, the numbers will fluctuate a bit, but the overall result is likely that the two offers are almost identical, effectively. Now, if you could have got a 4% loan, you would save a little over $1500 with the bigger rebate, an 8% rate and the number is a larger amount bigger...but 6-8% seems to be the current standard rate in Canada that I can find.

I've missed rebates by a day and got them by a day...you just go with the flow and enjoy the car! Welcome to the crew.

Edit...see you say they offer both rebate and 1.99%...yea, you got it in the shorts...just enjoy the car for a while and you'll forget it!

I got one of the first allotment of Abarth from my dealer in the GTA and the last car before they made people roll over to the 2013 model and was told 4-6 weeks. It took 22 weeks from order to delivery. That was because they kept giving the allotment to the US. Also I paid MSRP and 3.9% finance. You got a good deal. That what I get for getting one of the first ones and glad I did. Love this car. Where are you located in our great country?

I used to have a wrx, but I had a civic si before the Abarth. If I still had my wrx, I wouldn't trade my wrx for this car haha. I love the car, it's awesome... But I miss my wrx.
