This forum is my go-to place for Fiat info! My 2013 Rosso Abarth now has a KN air filter, and a new set of 17 inch Ciao wheels with Dunlop Direzza IIs for autocross. It's my daily driver, and this is my first year in SCCA autocross, so that has been a ton of fun running in G Stock class. I've only entered a few events, and the G Stock class is small in the South Carolina Region, so I'm currently in 2nd place for the year.

By day I'm in the Army at Fort Jackson, just about to hit 28 years of service.

Great pics!
Those new tires should work great!
I wish I had gone with the Dunlops now - BFG are way better than the stock pirellis but still not the best and they are noisy.

Man, I really like those Rosso Abarths. I love my Nero w/Rosso stripes/mirrors, but every time I see one of the other colors, I wish I'd gotten that one! Hey Robert, are you autocrossing with stock suspension/ride-height? I was under the impression this would be a hindrance for competition, but if it's doable I may take a shot at it myself.

Like I said I'm new to autocross, so I am really looking forward to the first event on the Dunlops this weekend. The stock 16 inch Pirellis have done ok and still have wear left at 19,500 miles so far, but watching the other drivers I know that having better tires makes a huge difference in the Stock classes. The Hoosiers go for 250 or so each, and I'm not sure there are any that would fit 16 or 17 inch, but the Dunlops have great reviews from Abarth&911 and Tirerack, so I'll give them a shot.

So far in my little region I've been competitive with the leader who drives an 04 V6 Mustang, and I know he's driven more than me!

if i am not wrong, the Dunlop Direzza IIs comes in 215 size for the 17's. and 45 instead of 40. (215/45/17). but that extra 10 of width, should be great.

there's a DART, running. he has same engine as me. but he got 225. so he won 2 sec over me. buuu. haha. i got 205's. (205/40/17).

The DunlopZII is available in 215/40/17, that's the size to have.

Latest news, I have ordered the Neu-F rear bar and will install that for 2014 autocross.
With the change in SCCA Solo rules, I plan to run in the G Street class this year in the South Carolina Region, and hope to make all the events this year.
Happy New Year everyone!

My son and I have started a car blog that will focus mostly on autocross, but also any other interesting car shows, racing news, supercar, and other events we might attend, so I invite you to check it out: http://www.nms-racing.net/
