I have a 2013 Abarth Cabrio. I really want to add a Air intake system. One that is really easy to install.

Just looking to help the engine breath a little more, without getting complicated. On ebay i see this intake called the "Short Shot" Does anyone now about this product?

It may or may not be legal in your state. It will probably need some type of documentation saying that it is legal (like a sticker.) If it isn't legal you will probably only have issues when you have your car smogged and/or inspected. In CA new cars don't need to start that procedure for 5 years. If you just replace the stock paper filter with a better one that should be legal no matter what.

The Eurocompulsion intake fits your easy to install requirement. I returned my car back to stock for an oil change at the dealership and it only took 10-15 minutes. Then thought about selling it and ended up putting it back on and it only took another 10 minutes. The first time you install it will probably take a little longer but once you realize how it goes in/out it's really really easy.

Concept-wise, the short shot looks to be similar to the EC version except the intake is just breathing in the air in the engine bay. I'm sure with the short shot you could keep the stock cover too and then it'd be more like the EC version since you'd be directing air back there. I'd be concerned because the short shot doesn't direct air back there. If you're willing to pay $82 for that I'd spend the extra $130ish for the EC's nice silicone tube (or less shopping in the classifeds section) Otherwise order a $30 filter, get the two plastic tube connectors and a couple feet of tube and you'll probably still be under $50 instead of $82.

Welcome to the forum.

The short shot is actually a home brew by a forum member and it works well but I think the Eurocompulsion mentioned and pictured above is the better choice for fast and easy, I personally prefer the look as a part of my choice since it spends a lot of time being looked at with car meets and as a bonus it functions and isn't overly difficult to install or remove either.

What's the verdict on sound, performance and CELs with the EC piece? I'm half-sold on it just for the looks!

In my case i remove the stock and replace it with a K&N drop-in!!Cost only 60$$ and is better than the OEM!!
