I've been dealing with Michael at xxr wheels for years now and trying to work out a deal for us 4x98 guys.

Im thinking about doing a production run of this wheel in flat black
17x7 with 35mm offset
http://xxrwheels.com/xxr_535_18.shtml

Price would be 585 shipped and also would only be our bolt pattern drilled on it so wont be 8 holes on it. What do you guys think?

Looks good. As long as color options are the same price across the board I don't think you'd be short on interested people.

Hubcentric too? From what I can find these are 18-19 pounds-ish, which is fine for value-oriented cast wheels.

I'm assuming they'd look like this? [minus the bolt pattern]

For that price, I'd hit up a set. They'd be super easy to clean, LOL.

I have to figure out on one color because its 100 wheel min for a production run for us. They have a 4x100 I might pick up with wobble bolts to test fir to see how they look.

I think its a great idea to get people together to buy a set drilled to our specs, but personally id only be interested in some 16 inch wheels right now.

Maybe I can get a little pole going 16s vs 17s?

the 535's look good, but I am a bigger fan of the 531 and the 527.

prob is the other wheels offsets are wrong and 8 inches or wider.

id love some 16x7 (or even 7.5 if the offset is right and wont poke). I think the 16 inch option is more attractive for autoX oriented people who like to buy sticky tires but not spend the premium that 17 inch tires cost.

Just my thoughts.

Dream wheel for this car if it could be made in 16s would be the ATS Classic

I think those in a 16x8 would be nice. Not a big fan of 17x7 as I already have the factory upgraded 17x7 wheels on the car. If I were to pay for new wheels I would want to go wider at least. I do like the 5 spoke design would just hope for something a bit wider. Or if they could make the ones I linked in a 17x7.5 that would be cool too.

Chromium looks sweet, matte is pretty much played. And yep, lots of other styles made by XXR that would work as well.

530's would be awesome in a 15x8 +25. The +20 is just a little too much.

a 5mm difference in offset is not going to fix those poking problems. 15x7.5 +30-35 is more like it.

my stock 17x7 wheel with bfg 215 40 17 barly clear fenders. Can imagine it sticking out more.

Does the 215/40/17 affect speedo reading at all I'm pretty dumb when it comes to +1 or +zero tire changes on stock wheels. I would imagine not just that it's slightly wider is that the correct thinking.

You have very good taste.

Once I figure out more about the width vs offset with these cars I'll get more in depth on which wheels I want. I'm gunna guess ill either be running wobble bolts or spending an insane amount of money getting custom wheels made is 4x98. For the record I know tons and tons of people that daily drive wobble bolts with 0 issues at all. Most of my vw friends run 5x114.3 wobble bolted to 5x112. It's been said before in different threads that 4x98 is obviously the best bet but unless your planning on keeping them forever the only person your going to be able to resell them to is another fiat owner. 4x100 is vw up until mk4, most 4 lug Honda and e30 BMW so that opens your resale to a ton of people. And the width and offsets these cars seem to be using could be run on any one of those except for the BMW because they can handle some pretty crazy widths and offsets. Just my 2 cents. Then again I come from the srt4 world where the live and die by rota and the s2000 world that would just assume ride on the rotors before putting rotas on their car.

Tony,

I applaud your help with all of this. There is also a place I was contacting to get some Rotas done in a 4x98 http://18racing.com/ I think they said minimum was only four sets of wheels and they could get it done. Maybe you could inquire about some lightweight Rotas, I think they have better choices/colors.
