EBC GREEN 2000

•EBC medium dust fast street pad with 20-25% % brake improvement.
•Capable of repeated heavy brake use without brake “Fall-Off”.
•Very minimal disc/rotor damage characteristics.
•Superb material for lighter model Asian and European sport compacts.
•ECE R 90 type approved for most cars.
•Features red “brake in’ surface coating for instant safe braking after install.

Appreciated by drivers of cars up to 200 BHP year 2009 sees the launch of the 9th version of EBC 2000 series Greenstuff which has once again pushed the performance barriers of organic friction materials. The latest version of Greenstuff is a deliberately softer compound to improve pedal feel on lighter cars at lower speeds. This resulted in a medium dust material with good lifetime and minimal rotor wear.

Designed for premium street driving offering better brake effect up to 600°C (1100°F). EBC Greenstuff has a high initial brake effect and gives drivers confidence from first application of the brake pedal. There is no such thing as a no dust pad. The very nature of how a brake works requires that some dust be generated to avoid rotor vibration (shimmying). The EBC pad creates less dust and dust is more easily washed off than most. All pads create more dust as they are bedding in especially if rotors are worn. Nominal friction coefficient 0.55. For heavier faster cars and vehicles above 200bhp we strongly recommend Redstuff which does offer much less dust.
MSRP:$77.92 EC PRICE:$69.00

EBC RED

•EBC lowest dust fast street pad with 20-25% % brake improvement.
•Capable of repeated heavy brake use without brake “Fall-Off”.
•Very minimal disc/rotor damage characteristics.
•Superb material for Prestige imports/European and Asian cars.
•ECE R 90 type approved for most cars.
•Features red “brake in’ surface coating for instant safe braking after install.

There are two reasons our customers love Redstuff, First because they are the lowest dust pad we have encountered by reducing dust by 60-90%. Plus the minimal dust you see is very easily removed with a simple sponge wash as it contains no steel fibre particles as in all other pads. Second they brake like an alligator right from cold (as good as Original pads or better) and just get better as they heat up.

This material is a KevlarŪ fibre based brake compound enhanced with ceramic particles. If you have previously tried EBC redstuff (pre-ceramic compound) this material is light years ahead. It lasts longer, it brakes better and is quieter.

Redstuff however as a harder compound does take longer to fully bed in to achieve its highest levels of performance (can be up to 1500 miles/2500 Kms urban use) during which time the odd “Chirp” of brake noise may be heard when starting from cold in damp and cold conditions at walking pace speed. One press of the pedal to clear the rotor of any dampness and this disappears to leave EBC Redstuff a pad that inspires confidence in all cars. The motto is be patient give the pads a full chance to bed down. MSRP:$88.79

Both these pads blow away the factory pads that the Abarth came with. Much cheaper than the dealer and better performance and both pads dust much less than the factory pads. A must if you have white/light colored wheels like I do. Our Abarth with be running the Reds shortly.

Which pad is recommended for street use?

Both are, but the Greens have a better initial bite. The reds are a higher performance pad that require a longer break in cycle but are a heavier duty pad.

Both dust much less, perform better and are cheaper than the stock pads. Most guys will be very happy with either. I had greens on a few VWs and they were very good. I am going to give the reds a try on the Abarth.

Yes absolutely for the Abarth, confirmed directly with EBC. They are a regular in-stock item and we are accepting orders.

Rear pads/EBC rotors will become avail at years end. We will have them in stock when they hit stateside.

No as per EBC red/greens will work well with stock rears. When going to yellows they recommend matching rears.

Opps sorry forgot to update, its about 50-65% less dust finally after about 1200 miles, the initial break-in squeal is gone, still awaiting an update for re-stock, I should have a more precie answer by end of week, I was told December last week but I will get more info as we get closer to December.

My buddy raves about these brakes on his Gencoupe! 2 things worry me about these pads : Do these pads eat up the discs at an accelerated rate compared to the OEM pads??? Also do these last as long as OEM pads?
I know that these are built for performance so its no biggie if that's the case. Although making no compromises would be nice :)

A lot of that depends on your driving style, they have been pretty gentle on the rotors and have lasted fairly long from what I have seen on my own car. I also haven't heard any complaints about them.

You think they are dirty...try the cobalt friction pads. :)

Your not supposed to look clean on the track or Autox though.

The greens have dusted a little less than the stock pads and the reds are a very clean pad in my experience with them.
