Anyone have both an "L" and Abarth, or traded an Abarth for an "L"? I'm wondering how they compare. Obviously the Abarth will be faster, but is the "L" comparable in terms of the "fun factor?"

Hi Sam,

Driving the 500L reminds me of driving a 124 Sedan. Comfy, but handles well in the best Italian family car tradition. It is softer naturally than the Abarth and I'd say the Prima we had. When I drove it I thought of it as roomy family car/wagon with traditional European handling and stability. Goes very well on the highway and when driven with gusto can put a hurting on its Asian competitiors. The DDCT is a little slugish when shifting it manually and feels best when left to its own devices. I think the Trekking would be the closest with its sporty rugged looks, but on a whole I think the fun factor comes from the ability to do anything and go anywhere with the car. It's not a slouch, but not an overtly over the top sporty car like the Abarth.
