View Full Version : how to replace the Trunk (pull) Strap for 5 bucks!

Hello Fiat enthusiast!!

So I wanted to change my trunk strap, but they are really expensive for what they are.. so this is what I did for jus 5 dollars!

First of all, you will need a Dog leash

Then cut the leash where the "handle" is

With a lighter burn the edges

Now open a hole, I used an electronic soldering, is easier and burn the edges at the same time.

now Trim the burned excess

and here you have a good looking trunk strap for 5 dollars!!

Nice! I opted for the madness strap simply because the loop stays open and it's easier to grab. Do you think you could insert some plastic, maybe just a zip tie to give it some spring?

that was sucha great and useful DIY share that even though I have the small trunk door on my Cabrio model I think I still want to try this!
