By the local dealer yesterday, told me the Turbo is discontinued for the reasons we've all mentioned;...price point too close to the Base/Discounted Abarth, and just hard to move without heavy discounts in general. I though it was a nice option car, maybe fiat should pop the 135hp motor in the Sport now?

...or offer the 135 hp turbo as an option on the Pop, Sport, Lounge or cabrio -- allow the consumer to build THEIR 500 soup to nuts.

that's a bummer, i thought the T was a nice compromise between a sedate 500 like mine :) and the snarly brat that is the Abarth (it's a nice brat but some folks may have neighbors who don't like snarly brats)

First, there will be two versions of the Cattiva - one based on the 500 Sport and another on the 500T Turbo.

On the window sticker, the 500T is called a Sport Turbo. It could be just a name change.

I'd definitely vote for the turbo engine in all models, BUT, it has to have the Abarth snout for the parts...so that's not going to work at all.

And I would not want to see the Pop/Lounge face altered to accommodate a larger engine.

Not really sure which way they could go with the in-between engine. Unless they altered the Sport as it is, making it's body style hold the regular or turbocharged version. Lots of people like the Sport. It has it's own unique body style. So there would be the Sport and the Sport Turbo. Which is what the 500T is called on the window sticker anyway, the Sport Turbo. Or Turbo Sport. Whatever.

So it's not "an Abarth with less power", it's Sport with more power. We'd have the Pop/Lounge twins, and the Sport/Sport Turbo twins. That makes sense to me.

Maybe they should follow the marketing in Europe and just change it to the Abarth (but put the Abarth suspension on it) and call the current Abarth the EsseEsse?

Kind cool, though, that I'll have a rare car in 20 years.... :chuncky:

Bottom line: poor sales :-( May be we'll start seeing significant price reductions on T headlights, driving lights, and taillights?

They use the black out lights on the special editions, like the Cattiva, GQ, Gucci, eSport.

Yes, as 2013 models.

I doubt that. My LS could hardly get them in and they didn't linger long on the showroom floor when they did have them.

Yes, as 2013 models.

The Cattiva 'package' just started to be offered. It WILL be available on 2014 Sport and T models. My personal opinion is that some dealers are confused because corporate isn't communicating what's happening very clearly.
