Maybe if we showed up in one of these at an SCCA event, they would be begging us to run the Abarths!!

At least this time he will have a point because the car doesn’t meet the SCCA rule…..

12.1 AUTOMOBILE (CAR)
An automobile or car is a self-propelled land vehicle, running on at least
four (4) wheels, not in a line, which must be in contact with the ground
when at rest.

Heh. :-)

I saw a Morgan 3-wheeler at an autocross in the '70s almost roll (Norfolk, VA area, John Sheally III, for anyone from the area). The driver put his hand out as if to catch it - good thing it stayed upright or he might have lost his arm. I have a picture of the car when parked someplace...

I saw him a few time about 10 years ago driving a Morgan Plus-8 . There was a lots of talk about his hair in the club, they were getting nominated for a officer position…

I remember he had a pretty cool rig to tow the Morgan, with a little Google search I found it.

A couple of things:

- Dunno if it was a Plus 8 but he had a Morgan with a beautiful hand-rubbed lacquer paint job on it that he was going to race WTW. Claimed he was going to go into the first turn and hit somebody so he wouldn't worry about the paint anymore.

- He was at the (one and only?) SCCA National Tour in Norfolk in 1994. I saw him way off by himself putting his helmet on. It certainly appeared that he had removed his toupe to accomplish this... :-)
