Received this email today from the Berkeley dealer:

Dear Barry,

As we get closer to the arrival of your 500e, please check out the following websites from the federal government, the state of Calfornia, California DMV, the California Air Resources Board, PG&E, the US Department of Energy and AeroVironment Inc, FIAT's recommended charging station supplier.

Please keep in mind that neither I, nor any employees of McKevitt FIAT are tax advisors. It is your responsibility to educate yourself and take advantage of all the programs currently available from these entities in order to lower the cost of ownership of your 500e. Be aware that all of these programs have limitations and/or specific rules and requirements for qualification.

If you know about any other BEV-related assistance programs that I have not mentioned here, I will be happy to verify with FIAT if the 500e qualifies for that program and get back to you.

Federal BEV tax credit rules/info: http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/taxevb.shtml

California state tax rebate: http://energycenter.org/index.php/incentive-programs/clean-vehicle-rebate-project/cvrp-eligible-vehicles. Make sure you read the fine print before applying for this rebate! You must keep your 500e for at least 36 months under the terms of this program.

California DMV application for the white clean air vehicle decals to go in the HOV lane: http://www.dmv.ca.gov/forms/reg/reg1000.pdf. The vehicle must have permanent license plates assigned before CAV decals can be issued.

FasTrak information on BEV's with white decals: http://www.bayareafastrak.org/static/info/hybrid_instructions.shtml

PG&E BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) FAQ page: http://www.pge.com/en/myhome/environment/whatyoucando/electricdrivevehicles/pevfaq/index.page

Charging station installation infrastructure tax credit from the US Department of Energy: http://www.afdc.energy.gov/laws/law/US/10513. Not many people know about this tax credit!

A helpful California Air Resources Board page: http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/carpool/carpool.htm

Another C.A.R.B. page: http://driveclean.ca.gov/comparison.php?vehicle_checkbox=compare_11675&x=23&y=6

AeroVironment Inc (FIAT, Nissan and Ford's recommended charging station manufacturer/supplier): http://evsolutions.avinc.com/. McKevitt FIAT is an authorized AV charging station dealer.

I hope this information is helpful to you. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Best regards,
