Hi!

I am Cheri and I just picked up a black on black 500e last week after a long roller coaster ride on various waiting lists. The car is so much fun and since I didn't see anyone else yet blogging about the electric Fiat, I started a blog.

Taking the car to a local show tomorrow morning. I am active in the car club community here in San Diego and am a long time member of the Mustang Club. I sold a Focus to get my 500e. Have been wanting a electric car for a long time and nothing affordable was out there that looked like fun till I read a article about this car. Had to have one.

Hi there! Just checked out the blog, and bookmarked it.

Glad you made it through the waiting list process.

Let us know what the folks at the car show have to say!

Whoa, the Fiat Access people sent you over to these forums? Awesome!

Congrats on the new ride and welcome to the forum!
Sounds like Fiat have done an excellent job on the 500e. Hopefully we will see them outside of CA one day.

Yeah I thought that was interesting. She basically said the guys at the dealership would not know what to do so to come here search for "enable modem" and print the directions to bring with me, LOL. The 500e is new to everyone, even the techs.

I will get some pictures at the show tomorrow. I am also taking my 68 Mustang. There is one other guy in the club that recently got a 500 so he is going ot park next to "Antonio" so we can compare 500 vs 500e all day.

Agree there. That's something I've been telling people for ages, there are no "old timers" who've been around the vehicles for the last twenty years who know EVERYTHING. It's NEW to all. The guy/gal in service who does ONE single thing to the 500e is suddenly "the pro" when it comes to updating the modem.

And as each owner comes here with a question, it gets answered. All we need on this forum is ONE PERSON to learn how it's done, and to pass on that info to everyone else. Including the service techs.

We have our very own Fiat people here:
US: http://www.fiat500usaforum.com/member.php?1368-FiatCares
Canada: http://www.fiat500usaforum.com/member.php?2374-FiatCACares

Side note: I remember on another unofficial vehicle forum hearing about a service person had left a sticky note in a customer's car to visit the forum we hung out on.

Seriously, the service people and the mechanics and the Fiat Specialists can't go over everything they know with any single customer. Pointing people in a direction where they can get MORE info is probably the best thing Fiat can do. We can compare notes with others. Learn about what works and doesn't work and how to fix it. Let people help other people. It works very well.

I had a blonde moment and totally didn't get the joke.

With the weight of the battery pack I won't be hauling this little car around on my back any time soon.

Don't be surprised. LOL I'm both happy and proud to say that over the years, Fiat500USA.com and this forum have enjoyed a good relationship with the company. My commitment to the brand and in supplying information and support to owners and fans have not gone unnoticed. Material from Fiat500USA.com has been used by the company, and the RSS feed from the site was featured for years on official Fiat dealer's sites. If you look at my personal posts on Fiat500USA.com and this forum, you will find exclusive and many times first published information that this relationship affords. It's all done in the name of enhancing an enjoyable ownership experience and spreading the name of a car company that has contributed so much to the automotive world.
