Jeepnut, I tried sending you a private message but your inbox is full. If you want to check out the event you're welcome to ride with me, or by midnight tonight you can still sign up and drive.

Small and Wicked, what mods do you have on your car? I've only run into one other Abarth guy from the forum at an autocross and he was in stock also.

BC coilovers, NeuF Torsion bar, V2 intake, I really need new stickier tires. I wonder how many runs we will get.

Any of yall have any dealings with Hendrick Fiat. I went the other day to check out an Abarth it was to put it nicely a disaster!

I haven't been to Hendrick Fiat in Charleston, but I thought forum member Vaejovis carolinanus was working there.

I am no longer at Rick Hendrick Fiat, but I do continue to send them leads on Fiat customers.

I have to give a public pat on the back to Small&wicked2013. After he heard about my experience at Hendrick he contacted me and after just a brief conversation I was very impressed! This guy is the kinda sales expert that we all wish we dealt with when it comes to purchasing our baby's! Normaly I wouldnt call somebody out publicly like this and I hope I dont upset him but hey credit where credit is due right!

I'm in the morning run group Robert. Which is what I was hoping for. Hope I can stick around for the afternoon run group but I may have to go in to the studio. It would be cool if we could grab lunch. Plenty of places to eat within walking distance.

I will likely get down there around 1200 and be ready for lunch, so that might work out!

I am jealous of you folks - I am still the only Abarth competing in autocross locally.
Would be so much better to be able to compare mods on the track.
Enjoy yourselves this weekend!

Ended up having to work for a bit but I stopped by for a few minutes and got to meet Mr. Nixon. Very nice gentleman with a beautiful Rosso Abarth. There was a Nero Abarth parked nearby dont know whos it was but was a great looking ride! Overall it was the first time I had been to an autox event and I have to say it looks like a good time!

Great to meet you guys Small and Wicked, and Jeepnut. I'm just having a blast not only with the Abarth but driving autocross this year. Even with no previous experience it is just way too much fun.
Not sure if I can get my video edited tonight, will work on putting one on here so you can critique my lack of skills! here's a photo from inspection this afternoon:

With some great tips from Small and Wicked I was able to drop 3 seconds on my 3rd run, which had me end up in 2nd place for G Stock, beaten out by a VW GTI, but ahead of another VW I think. My son Brian was 4th in C Stock, so he was happy going faster than about 5 others in his class.

In the family bragging rights, again he beat my best time by less than a second, BUT, with the PAX adjustment for different classes I squeaked ahead! Hooray for old age over youth!

Next up for me is a bit of vacation, which includes the Abarth Experience in Joliet IL this coming Thursday, so I'm really pumped up for the chance to learn how to go faster.

Bit of a break until the next event in our South Carolina Region is September 28th, location still TBA. http://www.scsportscar.com/solo/schedule/2013_results/
After that we will be up at the Michelin Proving Grounds in Laurens SC, having never been there it should be an interesting place to see all the various places that Michelin tests tires.

Here is the short news story that channel 4 ABC TV in Charleston did on this event! You can find just a bit of the Red Abarth around 1:15 or so, and then later I'm the guy handing out time slips after the finish line.
