It's summer time... maybe a trip up and down the coast is warranted with a meet up at Viggalucci's or in Little Italy San Diego!

I know Michael Passage wanted to plan something soon up here and end up at a track for a little hooning around ;)

I would be down for something in or down to San Diego...I missed the last few events. I just need a solid date to plan it properly and maybe spend an extended weekend down there.

Maybe a drive from LA/OC down to Little Italy for an afternoon dinner and to get all the love of the Italian women (and men, pfft) that LOVE this car, and then we head to the 1/8th mile runs at Qualcomm Stadium not more than 12 mins away?

Or... we could all simply CRASH the next auto-cross event at qualcomm on a sunday afternoon, and then grab drinks and burgers afterwards at In-n-Out or the Tilted Kilt at Mission Valley?

Since I've been iffy on the past few GTGs, I'll commit to this one for sure.

I'm fine with any Saturday -- I like shaggie's idea where we mix cruise/dinner/event, though I'll sit out on tracking/dragging mine.

A friend of mine is a friend of a guy here local that has not yet signed up for the forum...he knows no other Abarth owners yet and is interested in signing up. Once I meet him he may be willing to join. I should know in the next week. I passed a message to him to join the forum to talk more.

That is not a problem for me either, I have a couple work projects that will leave me more available after the 9th. Maybe something set-up for mid to late August would be best to help everyone plan???

What is the Qualcomm schedule typically like?

How about Sept 8th, Sunday.

SD group meets up, runs up the 15 freeway, cross over on the Ortega, then picks up with everyone else and hits Angeles Crest Hwy.
Insert some planned stops instead of pulling over every 10 miles this time :)

i just have to find a bigger parking lot. for out meeting point. denny's was a bit small. so that will be updated.

anyone who's not on FB. let me know and i will just post that you will "be there". :-)

by the way...
last time we had two meeting points for people driving down from L.A. should probably do the same this time.

Just make sure wherever we decide to meet that someone contacts the owners of the parking lot and ask that it's ok to meet there. The manager at Denny's wasn't happy with us being there the last time

Good idea, and it is a public parking lot, while Dennys wasn't and the fact that "everyone" wondering through the restaurant looking for the bathroom didn't help either.

I'll throw out the upper level of the Fashion View mall parking structure might be a good place to meet up in san Diego... depending on what the plan is after that.

Public, Restrooms, Eats, Places in the mall food court to hang if desired, Etc...

Posted from the FB page:

"Date: Sunday, Sep 8th.
Time: 8:00 AM, The group should be leaving around 9 AM.

Google Map Directions
http://goo.gl/maps/PWDZH

Starting Location:
Harbor Parking Lot,
1200 N Harbor Dr, Oceanside, CA 92054

Should be plenty of space plus perfect for a photo shoot.

There's a Mobil & Chevron Station on the sides of Denny's, so I thought this is a very convenient location close to the 76 Highway. I recommend that you fuel up your vehicle & have a light meal before the group heads out! Also make sure to carry beverages to stay hydrated throughout the day.

Once we're on Highway 76, it's a straight shot all the way to Palomar Mountain's S Grade! We we be taking a break at Mother's Kitchen on Canfield Road once we climb up the South Grade.. Then we can then decide if we want to take the East Grade towards Julian and loop back around Any suggestions or questions regarding this itinerary, feel free to chime in!

Most importantly!! I encourage you guys to have fun, all though this can be quite a spirited drive.. Please know your vehicles limits and don't push yourself beyond your capacity in any way to endanger yourself and others. We would like to be incident free and stay safe out there :)

Ciao,
SD Skorpz."

Will have to play by ear... lots going on that w/e. On the FB event page peeps are talking about the DubFest event in Irwindale too, which would probably make Julian a non-starter, so if I can move things around, I'll at least try to make the front part of the run up to Palomar. Should have the ATM FMIC on by then too hopefully....
