"A styling model previewing Fiat's future small SUV was shown last year. That model has been revised to make it "more curvaceous and with some hints from the Juke," sources told Automotive New Europe.

Fiat's new SUV will join the 500's fast-growing portfolio. At about 4200mm (nearly 14 feet), the 500X fits between the 4150mm 500L five-seat small minivan and the 4350mm seven-seat 500L Living.

Fiat will offer 500X variants with either front-wheel or four-wheel drive. The new SUV will replace the Sedici, which Suzuki made for Fiat at its plant in Hungary until the end of last year.

The Jeep model, known internally as the B-SUV, looks like a baby Wrangler, a source said. It will be offered only as a four-wheel-drive model.

The 500X and baby Jeep will be sold in Europe, North America and Asia."

"sources" saying it uses design cues from the Juke? That sounds odd!

Anyway, the 500X will likely be a big boost for Fiat in both Europe and the US eventually. To me, this is one of the big gains that Fiat gets from Chrysler, the Jeep/SUV platforms and reputation.

I hope they didn't take ANY styling cues from the Juke. I finally had to look it up, that thing is hideous:

The holes in the lower front: Missile launchers or soda dispensers?

That has got to be the least attractive vehicle I've ever seen. It's like they threw together several vehicle styles and made this Frankenstein thing. I have rechristened this vehicle "The Nissan Joke".

Perhaps more like styling cues from the 2014 Jeep Cherokee rather than the Juke. And I hope that it meant for the Jeep variant and not the 500X.

I was thinking I might like the X, but if it looks like a Juke FORGET it.

There was another article mentioning the Jeep would be more like a baby Cherokee. There's a difference between Cherokee and Wrangler. Cherokee makes more sense (that the new smaller Jeep would be similar to).

I can only hope that there is no resemblance to the Nissan Joke in either the Jeep or the Fiat. It's a big jumble of crap. Like they layered a sports car front end on top of a car front end with a base of military off road vehicle. Yuck.

I had the good fortune of being introduced to Roberto Giolito a few months back and given a private tour of the 500L. During our time together the future came up and I can tell you he was excited about what is on the horizon and told me "wait till you see it!" I think we are going to see something special...

I like the version of the 500X from the May 3 post, Chris. It looks like a Fiat 500, squashed and lengthened.

And definitely like the looks of the Fiat 500L over the IDEA MPV. The IDEA looks much like a regular minivan (aka Caravan) with minor updates (from the angle of the image). The 500L is so much more unique.

As long as the 500X looks "Fiaty", it should be okay.

And there's an extra zero for your update at the bottom on the story link:
