Behold, the 500L Living:

No official word on if or when this might be introduced to the US market. And call me crazy, but I like the proportions of this one better than the 500L.

but you know what this means? there wont be any cargo room when the seats are full. it might have a bit more than the standard 500 lineup.

My family had that issue when me and my four brothers and sisters all hopped in the station wagon with my mom and dad for a vacation. Solution: rooftop cargo carrier.

Sometimes you have to transport people, just people. Extra people can't ride in the luggage compartment on the regular 500L. Heh.

I think it looks sleeker, less tall, because it's longer.

The Ford Transit Connect Wagon is a competitor? Sure, if you like looking like you deliver cupcakes for a living...?

I think they're talking about this version:

That ain't no cupcake delivery van.

Mmmmm (drool), cupcakes (Homer Simpson)

I think it looks like those things they pick you up in to drive you to the Holiday Inn Express.

I just did a quick Google search and Edmund's says its not coming to the US, which I think is just f***ing stupid. Why would they not include the only variation that actually made sense? One more seat than the 2 door isn't much but 3 more seats is exactly what my mom was looking for. I guess we'll just have to look elsewhere and get stuck in either a land yacht or a luxury beige mobile.

Patience. It may well come along in the future. It would be premature to promise it at this point when the 500L just got here. US is a HUGE market. HUGE. All spread out.

There's other stuff in the works too. Sometimes you have to wait for what you want. And/or make due with what is available. Sort of like the rest of life. LOL.

Mr. Man, here's a quick blurb on the vehicle, being introduced this week:

KRAGUJEVAC – Fiat Automobiles Serbia will present a new model this Thursday.

”Vehicle -Fiat 500L Living- is an ideal connection of efficient usage of space and unmistakable ‘made in Fiat’ design”, said Fiat Automobiles Serbia officials.

Some cars first to Italy. Then to the rest of Europe. Mostly the UK I'd suppose. UK had the 500L before us. And they had the regular Fiat 500 for years before we got it.

After looking at a few Rome traffic congestion photos, they really need cars small on the outside, big on the inside:
http://acevola.blogspot.com/2008/09/in-gps-we-trust.html

It's mostly food and wine, but with many traffic pics and traffic-related dialog like this:
"Roman drivers are singular in their ability to ferret out every last drop of pavement in which to claim their driving space. They are aggressive, meaner than a junkyard dog, sometimes not paying attention, and ultimately forgivable in their ability to recognize another who just has to get to the airport on time."

Whether the pictures are old or new, that's some traffic. And you can see why it is preferable to have "small outside" cars.

And I'm totally using that hand gesture in the top photo. I don't know what it means, but I'm sure it's not a "Hi there" wave.
