I just put 4300k hids in my abarth and the driving lights 7443 is still yellow. Does anyone make a replacement bulb that looks better more white not yellow??

I've thought of ordering and trying these, but have not done so yet:

This is where I go to buy leds for cars kinda exspensive but the output and the ease of use is wonderful and here is a link to their best stuff.

I used dark amber (almost orange) bulbs to contrast with the 6k HIDs... looks a little meaner. FWIW, I went through no fewer than a dozen high quality DRL LEDs, even ones with built in resistors and canbus didn't work, but YMMV. Also, I found the LED white bulbs matched the 6k's perfectly in color temperature, so not sure how well you'll be able to match 4300's.
The last thing you'd want is the DRL's making your HIDs look more towards yellow in comparison. Maybe the amber would look good as well, and give a slightly more euro look.

Any idea how many of the bulbs installed on the 500 will signal bulb out warnings? I'd like to replace the majority of the interior and external bulbs with leds myself, but would like to avoid the headaches of having ordered replacements that will signal a bulb out.

Tried these guys? (http://store.ijdmtoy.com/7440-7441-7443-7444-992-T20-s/45.htm)
For something like this? (http://store.ijdmtoy.com/50W-CREE-R4-XP-G-7440-LED-Bulbs-p/7440-led-sku338.htm)

iJDMtoy were great to deal with, but I wasn't able to replace the 7443 DRL's successfully with out the CANBUS "check DRLs" dash message. They light fine when the headlights are on, but when the headlights are off, I got the error. I tried just leaving the headlights on all the time, but wasn't able to adjust my habits to do so enough to make the experience worth it.
Note that they recommend and sell the in-line resistors, but I didn't want to tap into the harness and mount a resistor with heatsink on the plastic surfaces around the bulb housing (they get really hot and can melt the rubber). I've also tried other 'canbus' bulbs with built-in resistors, but still never found a pair that wouldn't trigger the error. I finally gave up and went with amber incandescents instead. The V3's have caught my eye, but I'm no longer willing to be the guinea pig... They come with resistors harnesses so you don't have to cut into your factory wires, so they *should* work... Someone hopefully will take the plunge. 600 lumens is actually pretty bright. Even the H11 fog LED lights only put out 800-900, so your DRLs in 'bright' mode will be almost as bright as LED H11's. May be an issue (too bright).

Wait Norcal are talking about the Fog lights? The Drl's aren't on when the head lights are on only the turn signal are lit when the headlights are on.

Incorrect.. The DRLs dim when you turn on the headlights, they do not turn off completely (That is the issue people are having with LEDs that they aren't able to do the 2 different setting, on full and dim.. When ever you indicate, that DRL temporarily turns off until it is cancelled.. The DRLs share the housing with the turn indicators.

Norcal SS.. PM me i might have a solution

Well that is stupid that they don't fully turn off isn't that what the whole point is for the headlights to be on and the drl to turn off? Every other car ive owned that had drl's turned off when the headlights turn on Oh well leave it to Fiat to make things more pain in the butt when trying to mod the car a bit. But couldn't you just disable the DRL's from the EVIC?

Here are my new DRL bulbs that I got from a local guy here in Toronto. They are actually just a hint whiter then our headlights and fog light. Looks much better then our stock bulbs.

DRL Only (ignore all the death on my front facia)

yum, Wilwoods. i can see why you are cutting springs.. I raised the rear up to 25" floor to fender, and I STILL have 5.5 dead coils! Lost courage to cut the bump stops down as I couldn't get them out of the springs lol.

What kind of amber bulbs did you end up buying?
and do you really have to remove the bumper to change the bulbs?

thanks

I finally installed LEDs from carid (I gave you the link before, NORCAL SS). Well they were throwing a msg. went to autozone and got clip on resistors for $12. Good thing, everything works. Bad thing, those are ceramic 25w resistors. They are about AA battery size, and heat up. You can burn yourself if you touch them. They did fit under twist off cap, hope they will not melt anything. Will check them soon.
Basically we need 5w-6w resistor, i think stock bulb is 5.5watt. You can search ebay, or just go to local radio shack and ask for it. Just solder some wires and clip them on before bulbs to the orange and black wire. In that case any led will work, there are some nice, bright leds with projector lens built in on the market

Sorry to bring up an old and probably dead thread, but are you guys putting the resistor on the 12v hot wire to the bulb or the ground wire???

got it,

would i need resistors for each of the front turn signal circuits too?
I know i read on another post that i need 1 for the reverse light circuit, and one on each rear turn signal.
would i need resistors each of the brake lights too?
