can you get the gauge without the digital readout?

The digital readout is actually very useful, I find myself glancing at that more that the analog gauge on quick looks. It's also brighter and very visible in sunny situations, it's a very useful feature.

NORCAL SS

not really interested in that digital display. I went on their site they have the non digital display one also can i get that one instead. IM not going to be drag racing the car just want a cleaner gauge set up and the digital display stands out like a sore thumb.

Because this gauge is not at eye level and you have to scan the gauge I can see where the digital readout would be a real plus.
Even at eye level reading needle is a tad risky at WOT.

If they use the same size factory gauge in AU it should work, we connect to the factory harness with appropriately sized male pins.

Haha...

We had a similar sticker on another car for a friend that always had something philosophical to say...and the sticker said "What would Jun say?" We had it on our front driver side windshield area for about 20 cars. We all busted up when he finally caught on to it being there at car shows. It was hilarious. Small humor like that helps keep friends together. Some of my buddies got me one year after photoshopping a picture of my SRT-4 on the cover of a car mag. It looked like a legit magazine, and for those that payed attention the humor was that the car was doing a burnout...at the rear tires. It was hilarious too.

To keep this thread on topic...man, that gauge video is nice huh?

That's pretty funny... Trevc would totally get this.

Yup, ATM makes some pretty sweat stuff, I really like how my HCI works and I know the gauge will be just as awesome. Today they opened up the group buy on FMIC - dam it's difficult to keep up. I'm like a kid in a candy store with their offerings and this gauge is nicely engineered and the quality looks awesome - it will be great when they start shipping.

duh! about time and congrats!

"Moooommmm, are we THERE yet?"

EDIT: BTW, that install video is one of the best I've ever seen from a vendor, period. That was a lot of work to put together, and makes buying the gauge pod a 'zero wonder' experience... can't wait to do the install, looks like a fun and leisurely one with no heavy lifting or complexity challenges. #beers

Now i'm thinking, what if we wanted to keep the shift light, by adding a led somewhere, making the boost guage lighting to blink..

That lead is right in the harness at the connector right?

Believe it or not the shift light, dimmer and lights on/hot is all handled through the canbus, so pretty much inaccessible without a canbus circuit.

I didn't see if it was mentioned previously but are you guys going to be selling bezels separately?

My thinking is, eventually id like to buy a RHD boost gauge and replace the boost gauge with a wideband and use your ring to adapt it.

We are actually in the development process of a custom OBD gauge that will be able to show the most important OBD sensor data as well as an external boost and wideband sensor.

ATM did you guys have any trouble removing the screws that hold on the top piece of the column cover?
I just spent an hour trying to get it to turn out and it wouldn't. Just kept spinning, wouldn't tighten or loosen. I'm still pissed off about it haha. Only option I know of now it to break the cover off and buy another one.

Thanks

Where are you thinking of mounting this new gauge?

We are making a seperate custom pod that mounts in the same location for the obd gauge. Many people just wanted an affordable boost gauge solution that functions free of the ecu. some people want one with more functions, so we will have something for everyone!

Try to carefully pry on the screw while turning it out. Use something that wont scratch. You could also drill out the screw. Maybe use a pin vise. Mask and cover up the areas you don't want to get shavings into.

WegoFaster@Ambient Thermal Management
07-02-2013, 09:56 AM
Or lightly lift up on the cover as you unscrew it.

dylansi
07-02-2013, 09:30 PM
Ive tried pulling up, pushing down, pushing the cover to the left and right. Nothing, just kept turning without loosening or tightening. I may try to take a flat head and pull down on the head of the screw and see if that will help it. Not sure I can get that in there though, not much space. The left one came out no problem.

Mad me so mad I dont even want to attempt it again.

Even before we got involved in the project this is the gauge "everyone" wanted so we went with it. It truly does match the factory gauge cluster very well at night when the lights are on. The blue digital readout while "sticking out" really draws your eye and it's what I find myself constantly glancing at when I drive my car.

We hope to be recieving the gauges in the next 14-16 days. We got caught behind the 8 ball on this one as the gauges went out of stock, which kind of sucks because we need the actual gauge wiring and some of the parts to assemble the bolt in kits! Gauge kits will be shipped out in the order they were placed once we recieve and assemble everything!

Nothing to be nervous about, we are sitting on alot of $ wrapped up in the custom bezels waiting on the gauges to come in from Japan. We are right at the tentative ship date of these gauges from the manufacturer, I have already emailed them for a delivery estimate to us. We can't do anything until the gauges arrive to us as we still have to assemble everything for the end user. What sucks is when we put our gauge order in the US distributor(which is purely an electronic website) showed 400+ in stock when in fact they were out of stock, had we known this we would have been proactive and had the gauges produced earlier...

Yep, I had sent them multiple emails prior to paying and no response. Paid and sent them emails, no response.
Then asked for a refund (received it) and still no response. They need some attention to detail when dealing with customers.

I don't want to hear "we're busy" stuff either. Assign one person to handle communication and a time slot to sit
down and answer emails, phone calls, etc. It isn't that hard and it is something that every other business does
that wants to be successful in the long term.

See quote from ATM from just last week. These are working it as hard as you can work it, and their products are top-notch. I don't think most vendors would have taken the initiative to track down and contact the manu directly to ensure a direct order. They could have just blamed it on the distributor's incorrect inventory listing and scrapped the GB project altogether, but instead they took initiative to get the parts built ASAP by going directly to the manu. I don't know what else there is for us to know, or for them to do? Our impatience and excitement doesn't change the reality that they are faced with, and if anyone is anxious to get the parts right now it's ATM, not us. I'm sure they need to revenue to begin work on their twin-charger system and other projects, all of which may be held up by this GB they are sticking through for us. It's not like we are going through a drive-through and getting a burger and there's some guy chatting with his GF that should be flipping the burger... We are dealing with a real challenge that is being overcome proactively, and they are keeping us updated in real-time on the progress, too. Trust me, I'm just as excited as you are to get a real boost reading! :-)

Oh I'm so sorry, the wording of your initial pm to me sounded like you were trying to join the closed Group Buy. You will in fact be receiving the gauge kit.

Guys I will be posting up the final list of those that have sent deposits, we will begin shipping these this week so keep your eyes open to the email addresses you sent the deposit from for a PayPal bill from us to pay the remaining balance plus shipping! Guys, we are going to start assembling the kits tonight and hope to have them all complete and ready to ship this week. We are building a jig that will allow us to correctly install the gauges in the correct orientation so you end users simply have to install the factory gauge back cover then install them into the factory gauge housing just like a factory part. I have sized them for the correct shipping box and hope to have shipping quotes for everyone in the next few days!
