Quick Review on the "Federal 595 Evo Tires 205/40/17":

They are quieter & softer on bumpy roads due to a slightly softer sidewall, however they still stay more planted in corners compared to the P-Zero Neros, even under hard acceleration.. :D Sidewall doesn't run much bigger, I think it actually looks perfect on our wheels.. Plus they look more aggressive! Very predictable tires, more of a "point and shoot" experience.. The driver's feedback feels much better, a more well rounded tire at a killer price. They do seem pretty stable at highway speeds, but my alignment is still pretty crappy so I'll update you guys once I have that redone.

Bottom line is that I do recommend these tires, they are just what the car needed to stay more planted.. To those that Autocross, this may even shave precious seconds off your times! :cool

BTW, these tires are a step above the regular 595s which were also great tires, these seem even better!

Good review!! Seems like another good option for an inexpensive street tire. Hows road noise?

I'm at factory PSI settings.. 32r & 38f! They are surprisingly quiet and smooth to me, well much better than my worn out Pirellis for sure! lol The pricing on these were killer as well!! Very good for a setup under $400. Makes me glad that I didn't pull the trigger on the BFG KDW2 because I heard those are extremely noisy.

I'm running the Federal 595R (Race tire) as my daily tire and just love them.

I had KDW2s on my STi and noise was never a concern....then again I didn't really hear anything else except the boxer motor. >_____< Nice little review.

That's a pretty significant difference in size to be honest. It's 3.467% smaller in diameter. So at 90mph your indicated actual speed would be 87mph. You would be better off going to a 205 45 16 which is only a 1.5% increase in size. I have BF Goodrich Sport Comp 2's in that size and they fit great.
